Question: Did I overdose my child!?
I may be overreacting but I gave my son (5yr old) some night time robitussin since he has been coughing alot!. I wanted him to get a good nights rest!. I gave him 1 1/2 teaspoon!. Then I noticed the box said 6 yr old and above 2 teaspoon!. Did I give him too much where it's dangerous!? I don't think so but in the back of my mind I am kind of worried!. Any advice from you experts out there!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Thats just a suggestion, and he should be fine!. He'll sleep a bit longer, but be fine!. An overdose is shoving like 5 teaspoons down his throat!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You'll be fine!. From what I can see, the lower limit of toxicity for the active ingredient (dextromethorphan) is in the 17mg per kg of weight (child's weight) range!. In half a teaspoon there's about 5 mg of dextromethorphan!.
Wouldn't do it again, but it should be ok!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No you are fine that is a suggestion!. He should sleep soundly!. Nothing to worry about overdosing on medication is taking more than 5 spoons as long as he had water to refresh his body he will be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
