Question: How do I get my husband to stop smoking cigarettes!?
Nothing is working and I can't stand it anymore!. He smokes more and more as time goes on and I can't stand the smell of it!. I know when we get older there is an increased chance of him getting cancer and I will be the one taking care of him!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

If he doesn't want to stop, he won't!. No one can make a person stop!. But what you might do is buy him the book, "The No Nag, No Guilt, Do It Your Own Way Guide to Quitting Smoking," (yeah, it's a long title) by Tom Ferguson!. While the book does provide a lot of suggestions for quitting, what it ALSO does is provide strategies to be healthier WHILE you smoke!. That's the part of the book you want to push to him!. Tell him that if he absolutely won't quit, than he should at least take as many steps as possible to be as healthy as possible!.!.!. and yes, there are some things he can do!.!.!. although obviously, it won't totally eliminate the risks!. What you DON'T need to tell him, is that the book is a great first step towards quitting!. The book is an easy read, by the way!. You can finish in one or two days usually!.
Another thing you can do!.!.!. kind of a "shock therapy" strategy is to visit an insurance agent and get all the paperwork for a life insurance policy!. Then when you sit down to talk to him about the book, you can also place the policy in front of him as well!. Tell him that if he insists on not doing anything about his health, you want him to be insured, because you will almost certainly be left alone and with a whole pile of medical bills!. Sometimes that reality of their mortality gets their attention!. Anyway, it wouldn't hurt to try!.

If it is really bothering you that much tell him so again in a reasonable tone!. If he still doesn't quit than tell him you want a seperation!. The seperation will give him a chance to see what is more important, you or the cigarettes!. It will also give you a chance to see if it really bothers you that much or if it's something else and your just using the smoking as a scapegoat!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
For a lot of people it's harder to kick the habit just quitting cold turkey!. Id suggest talking to him about getting on a stop-smoking aid, either gum or pills!. A friend of mine was taking pills from her doctor to quit smoking, but they didn't tell her to just quit!. She still had to smoke but less and less!. Sometimes she'd even light a cigarette and feel sick so she would end up putting it out!. Id suggest going with him to see a doctor or asking your local pharmacy what would be best!. i started to smoke before 10 years !.!.!.i wanted to stop but i didnt know how!.!.i Researched this 2-3 weeks but i didnt find someway to stop!.
my brother gave me before 2 days a good article thats learn you how to stop smoking!.!.!.well now im clear from cigarettes and i want to share this article for all the world!.!.!.read this article and im sure your husband will stop to smoke!

If he has not indicated that he wants to quit then he won't!. All you can do is educate him and express your dissatisfaction!. If he was a smoker when you married him, then you have already shown that you approve, so getting him to quit may be next to impossible!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

tell him that!. if that doesn't spur him to quite then buy some air fresheners or get him to smoke outside, marriage is about compromise!. If he wants to smoke you should let him but get him to be considerate of non smokers such as yourselfWww@Answer-Health@Com
