Question: Surgery for Flat Feet!?!!?!!?!!?!!?
Hi, i'm 13 years old and have flat feet!. When I don't put weight on my foot (stand on it) it looks like it has a bit of an arch, but not when I stand!. My foot rolls inward!. Two years ago I got custom made inserts, and they didn't help!. I had a surgical procedure to take out an accesory navicular bone!. the surgery helped, but it didnt help my flat feet!. I still wear the inserts, they help a bit, but I still get INTENSE pain while doing any pyshical activity!. I went to my surgeon, he took an X-ray, and said I had two options!. I could either live with it or have surgery!. I'm going to get the surgery!. All I know is that will have two casts in 6 weeks, and I can't walk at all for the first 4 weeks!. He said he has to take a bone (from a dead person!?!?!?) and attach it to my bone, so it's longer and extends over yet another bone!. Does anyone have any more informarion on the surgery!? What's that surgery called!? Do you reccomend it!? Does it usually help!? Thank you so much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, I think it's really up to you to have surgery or not, but you know, if you have different feet it makes you, you!. I think all that pain is too much to have "perfect feet" but no one has perfect anything, I think I have small feet, my mom has a bump on the side of both of her feet, my friend has really big feet, you see no one has perfect feet, but if you in pain now (before the surgery) then I think you should have the surgery!. I really feel bad for you, DEAD PERSON!?!? Gross!!!! I think the surgery could help but it will be a painful journey!. If you are going to do the surgery, do it while you are young as you heal faster and better!. But this is really serious surgery!. At least get a second opinion from a specialist, an orthopedic surgeon!.
Also, the use of cadaver bone is somewhat common!. Not to worry!. It has been cleaned and sterilized!. It aids in healing, instead of using screws, pins!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
