I had the same thing happen to me, the best you can do is work it open SLOWLY!. If you force it, you may accidentally fracture a part of your jaw!.

Do you chew gum a lot or gnaw on pencils and pens!?

I asked my doctor about it, and he diagnosed me with TMD (tempromandibular disorder)!. I wore the bone in my jaw down because I was ALWAYS chewing on something (nervous habit)!.

I noticed it when I woke up one morning and I couldn't open my mouth, apparently, my jaw had slid over the top portion of my mouth and had locked itself there!. It took me a good five minutes to get it open!. It steadily got worse, and one day I had yawned, my jaw popped, and it froze with my bottom jaw hinged over the top!.

See a doctor if it doesn't loosen up in the next twenty minutes, you may need your jaw reset (I had to once when it stuck when I was sleeping)!.

By the way, I'm 18, and it'd been happening to me for at least two months before I sought out help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

how long has then going on!? if it just started suddenly and you are middle aged!.!.!.!.call 911

ANY sudden unexplained jaw pain should mandate trip to emergency room, as that is most common symptom of heart attacks in women!.!.!.

if it has progressively gotten worse, but didn't get this way "overnight" you will need to see dentist as it sounds like TMJ!.!.!.!.it if turns out to be TMJ, you will just have "flare-ups" from time to time (like now - if this is the case), and will just have to take a couple tylenols!.

You could have TMJ!. This is a disorder of the joint that connects the lower jaw to the skull!. The pain and clicking can be caused by grinding your teeth or clenching your jaw!.

See your dentist!. He or she can evaluate your condition and may refer you to a specialist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, take aspirin / advil / tylenol, then go to a doctor!. The left side of your jaw has to be broken, or jammed, or dislocated!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

You've got lockjaw!. And that means that you could have menengitis!. Go see a doctorWww@Answer-Health@Com
