Injury away on holiday?!

Question: Injury away on holiday!?
If I was to go abroad lets say to the US and I was to injure myself and I required hospital treatment what are the processes in terms of the paying the bills!. I've got travel insurance that covers medical expenses, so what happens after or before my treatment, do the doctors need to see my insurance documents so they can claim it off the insurance company or do I need to pay with my cash or card and claim back from the insurance company when I get home!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
It would depend on what country you are from and where you are travelling to!. For example if your an Australian who travels to Great Brittan and needs hospital treatment you wont have to pay because of an agreement between the two governments!. There are a lot of countries who do the same thing!. Im not sure about the US as they have no government funded health care so you would probably need to take out some sort of cover through your travel insurance company!. Yes they would need to see your insurance documents, not sure about whether you pay first or just the gap though!. Best to check with the insurance company before flying there!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You spend whatever and the insurance people re-imburse you when you get back!.
keep your receipts and remember not everything will be covered!.

confirm it with your insurance company before hand!. some companies operate differently!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
