Sorry to hear you're having such a hard time!. =[[ I haven't experienced this myself, but I work in an OBGYN office where many pregnant women complain of the same ailments!. Our advice to them first and foremost is to eat foods high in fiber: oatmeal, green leafy vegetables, prunes, dates, etc!. Avoid processed foods and dairy products!. Secondly you can supplement with fiber (which you said you're already doing)!. If all else fails, your doctor can prescribe you a mild stool softener (this is common practice for women who are taking iron supplements!.)

As far as treating the hemorrhoids - taking sitz baths can really ease the pain!. There are different types of sitz baths and you can find "recipes" on any home remedy site!. Using a water/aloe spray or compress can help as well!.

If you do indeed have a fissure, you'll need to see the doctor for proper treatment as this can lead to infection!. Good luck to you!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello,

I agree with the previous answerer, that taking iron tablets may well be making your constipation worse!. Unfortunately is a known side-effect!.

I suggest you ask about getting an iron injection once a month!. These are iron-sorbitol injections into the buttock or thigh!. The proprietary name is Jectofer!.

Usually doctors aren't very keen to give iron by injection, but I think you have a good case!.

I think you might ask about having a 'thyroid blood test,' to rule out poor thyroid function as a cause of your constipation!.

I'm wondering why you are low on ferritin, on stored iron in the body!. The most common cause for this is, that there isn't enough iron in the diet, - - but another common reason is losing iron from slight but long-term blood loss!. Have you been checked for this, I wonder!?

I hope this is of some help!.

Best wishes,

Iron intensifies constipation!.Eat only fruit ,veggies, and cut the meat in half!.Your bowels take time to heal!.Put in only foods that are healthy for you!.Get out and walk in the evening!.You should stay away from oat meal, because allergies to oat meal will cause a degeneration in the colon and possible degeneration of the villi that absorb nutrition!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
