Is it safe to use a tourniquet for a head wound?!

Question: Is it safe to use a tourniquet for a head wound!?
Answers:
Yes as their head will fall off and therefore limit the need for further care!Www@Answer-Health@Com

NO!. Tourniquets are not used for ANY wound these days!. For a cut on the head, use a clean, dry cloth or towel, and apply pressure!. If there is glass in the wound, seek medical treatment, but don't try to pick the pieces out yourself!. Rinse any dirt away from the cut with clear running water (use a jug)!. Don't apply any creams or ointments!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Apparently it is not!. Using a tourniquet for wounds can lead to gangrene according to my First Aid book!.

Hope that helps!. :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com
