Does this sound like Tourette's or something else?!

Question: Does this sound like Tourette's or something else!?
Well, starting when I was really young my eye used to do this thing (mainly the right eye), it would tic sometimes!. This was intensified greatly when I went on Concerta (for ADD) to the point where it happened so often I was bothered enough to go off Concerta, which wasn't working anyway!. You're apparently not supposed to use Concerta if you have tics or Tourette's!.

A number of years ago, not sure exactly how many, I noticed a tic mostly when I was cold, which involved shrugging my right shoulder, grimacing, and my arms and hands would twitch also!. It had been like that for awhile, but recently it's progressed into happening whether or not I'm cold, and is sometimes accompanied by a "huh" or a "uhh" or just a sharp exhale!. Also, my feet twitch sometimes but I don't take too much note of that so I'm not sure how often!.

I'm not that concerned about it since it's not debiliating, but it's getting to be noticeable and I'm not 100% sure if it's becoming vocal or not!. I'm wondering if this is Tourette's, and if not, what else it might be!. I've read about Tourette's and to me it sounds just like that, with one exception and that is the early childhood onset (16 years old atm), but as I said my eye tic-ed since I can really remember!. What do you guys think of this!? Thanks for your timeWww@Answer-Health@Com

The eye twitch thingy sounds like you may be lacking in magnesium!. Muscles twitch if theres not enough magnesium going around in your body!. But the shrugs and grunts is definitely Tourette related!. I feel for you but am glad that you have a good attitude towards this and are looking for answers and solutions! Go see a counsellor (a quality one, theres some useless ones out there) and try to get to the bottom of your problem!. Good luck and love yourself!! :>)Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like you should definitely get a medical opinion, really its hard to diagnose, and if I came out and said it was Tourette's then you would only have to go to the dr anyway!. Sorry for not being more helpful but seeking medical advice is the only way you will get the answer that your after, what ever anyone write here will only be an opinion and not enough to put your mind at rest!. I wish you all the best!Www@Answer-Health@Com

My brother-in-law has Tourette's and his tics are blinking and slightly turning his head to the right!. He tried several medications and he had so many side effects that he eventually stopped taking them!. He does really good without it!. He works as a butcher, so it must not be a problem for him!. Talk to your doctor and consider all of the alternatives!. There are herbal remedies that can help with the muscle tics!. Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It could be you have an anxiety disorder with multiple tics!. An anxiety disorder can always turn into Tourette's or it may diminish over time!. I would suggest finding a good anxiety clinic!. Start looking at local universities!. Oftentimes, those doctors are the best and are up to date on diagnosis and treatment!. If you aren't near any good universities, contact some anyways and see if they can refer you to someone local to your area!.

You will want to find someone very knowlegable who specializes in anxiety disorders and tics!.

Good luck to you! I sometimes work with kids who have anixety diorders and they are treatable and can be managed!. You will be fine!.
