What kind of doctor should I be?!
Question: What kind of doctor should I be!?
I am positive that I want to be a doctor!. I'm 13, so you can tell that I plan ahead!. The thing I haven't got in my plans is what KIND of doctor I should be!. I don't mind surgery, but I would rather steady hours with good pay!. I'm thinking general practitioner or Internal medicine, but I'm not sure!. I would want a field that's exciting!. I'm pretty smart, I have straight As, and I love science and math!. Any suggestions!? Please no rude comments!. :-) thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

First thing you need to do is prepare so that you can get into med school!. Once there, you will get exposed to all the fields of Medicine, including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics,Ob-Gyn, and Surgery!. You will also get exposed to Psychiatry, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Allergy and Immunology, Sports Medicine,etc!. You can pick an elective on a specialty you're curious about and learn first hand if you like it or not!. If you're at the top of the class in med school, you can write your own ticket!. Good luck!. The highest earners are anesthesiologists, radiologists, neurologists and neurosurgeons!. The latter, and most other surgeons, have rather high malpractice rates, but earn well!. Obstetricians are the highest!.Most of this information is available in various studies you can find on the net!.

There aren't a lot of jobs right now for general practitioners or family physicians so don't go there!. If you want good pay surgery is the best but the hours are just grueling!. Ophthalmology offers good pay and good hours!. Being an ER physician can be exciting but the hours are long and there is a lot of risk of being sued!. Because of this same reason don't go into OBGYN!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Well if you want steady hours you should be a pediatrician, OBGYN, or just a clinical doctor!. But if you want an exciting field then you should do surgery but not for the money surgeons have to do it because they like to help people!. Atleast you have a general idea on what you want to do!.
