my family member has just been diagnosed with al-timers!. how long does she have left!? and when will she forget me!?

Hi hun!. The disease is actually called Alzheimer's Disease, so you'll want to use this spelling when looking for information!.
That said, my grandfather had this disease also, so I am very familiar with what you're feeling!. Alzheimer's is a horrible disease; there's no denying this!. That said, there is no "time limit" here!. My grandfather had the disease for more than ten years, and it only got very severe in the last three!. Some people have it for longer, others shorter!. It is highly variable!.
The forgetting won't come all at once!. Even towards the end, my grandfather had days where he could remember me and others where he couldn't!. In his case, he had a lot of memories from his earlier life still intact, and he would often get confused, thinking that he was in a different time in his life!. There's no way to say how it will play out for your family member, but I would say to keep in mind that memory comes and goes, so while she may forget who you are one day, she might remember you the next!.
There's no easy way to deal with this, and my heart goes out to you!. The important thing is to enjoy the time you have!. No one can see the future for any of us, so the best we can do is make the most of the present!. Try (it's hard!) not to spend too much time worrying about when the next stage of disease will come!. Ok I am a CMA and it is called Alzheimer's
It depends on how fast it progresses it can take weeks months or many many years!.!. It just depends on how it has progressed in your family member and they age of that family member!.!.
Please enjoy all the time you have with this person!.!. It does take a toll not only on the patient but the family

It depends on how developed the al-timers is!. May I suggest on focusing on the time you will have with this person, and enjoy the time together,even if she forgets you won't and the great memories you can make will last forever in you're heart!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
actually its spelled Alzheimer's!. what do you mean "how long"!? she probably will forget you, but they have medication or surgery that can cure it, but it will never go away!. just reducing it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
