Question: PINK EYE! Answers from people with firsthand experience!!?
My eye was red for a week!.!. not itchy, only red!. So after it had not gotten any better, I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with pink eye!. I got the drops on saturday and began to use them!. I have been using them for 4 days straight now and my eye seems perfectly back to normal!. I usually wear contacts and wear make up and I haven't been since I was diagnosed!. I was wondering since I'm more than 1/2 way trough the healing process (the Dr!. said it would take a week) if I could return to wearing my contacts!. Answers:
I would wait until the treatment is finished!. And throw away the contacts you wore when you had pink eye because they could reinfect you!. You need new contacts!.

Pink eye, also called conjunctivitis, can show up when you least expect it, and it is very contagious!. There is more than one type of pink eye, and how you treat it depends on the type!. If it is bacterial you need antibiotic ointment or drops!. There is no particular treatment for viral pink eye!. If it is an allergy that is causing your difficulty you may need anti-inflammatory medication or antihistamines!. Frequent hand washing is crucial to prevent spreading the virus or bacteria, depending on which type you have!. There is also something called CLARE, or contact lens induced acute red eye!. Sleeping in contacts makes the eye more susceptible to inflammation/infection!.
