Proper history and physical exam!., is very important for a correct diagnosis!. The sequence of events and the nature and mechanism of injury etc!. Pain, local pain, localized swelling and or depression, pain during contraction and or passive relaxation phase of the particular muscle and or change in deformity and loss of function of that particular muscle!. Besides there are tests to further evaluate the problem as pinpointed by your doctors clinical examination!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
