Could I have irritable bowel syndrome? ?!

Question: Could I have irritable bowel syndrome!? !?
I had diarrhoea about 3 weeks ago, then had normal stools, then had a day of diarrhoea and normal stools!.
I was constipated most of last week and managed to pass only 2 stools, usually I have 1 a day!.

Now I am still constipated, but softer stools (quite small) are passing, quite frequently (every hour or so)!.

I am also passing what I can only describe as "mucus", not a lot, but I let out gas + "mucus" comes out, but only a little bit - I am guessing that is something to do with the gut!?

It is also very uncomfortable for me, I have no abdominal pains, but I always feel like I need to "go"!. Sometimes when I try, I just end up straining and nothing comes, but I can feel it inside me!. (Not literally!)

I will book an appointment at my doctors, but I wondered what you men/women think!?

Could it be IBS!? Or just a stomach virus!?

Oh, I have been feeling quite sick over the weekend, I haven't been sick though!.

Thanks for any help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Digestion problems are very common and a naturopath acquaintance of mine believes that about 65% of the population has some digestion problems!. Both liquid chlorophyll and pineapple every day will promote a healthy digestive environment and that should help you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i'm not a doctor but i'm almost sure it's not IBS because a close friend of mine has had it for quite some time now her symptoms tend to be a bloated stomach and fairly serious stomach ache low down that she takes painkillers for regularly!.
but i don't think it's a stomach virus either because of the fact you have had diarrhoea and then constipation!.
i would defiantly book an appointment with your doctor to get this sorted asap
best of luck and i hope you feel better soon : ) Www@Answer-Health@Com

It might be colitis, I know that produces mucous!. I hope you get sorted out very soonWww@Answer-Health@Com
