It all depends on what type of endoscopy is being done!. They arent usually painful and recovery may involve a little discomfort!. People have these done all the time!.

Endoscopy, you do not indicate which end is to be addressed!. It can go up or down!.

Up first, whilst this will put you off bug gery (concession to yahoo) it is not particularly inconvenient, a bit of grease and home you skip!. You can have an anaesthetic, but this wastes a day!.

Down, this is not very pleasant, your body has a gagging reflex, which needs to be neutralised*!. You will probably be offered a general anaesthetic, it is better not to have it, essentially a bit of discomfort or half a day feeling dopey and looking stupid!. I had an incompetent physician who basically said anaesthetic or see someone else, this was my first experience so I took the line of least resistance!.

Apart from the first time I drove to the hospital and drove home!. If you are compos mentis, you get to see your insides on the monitor in brilliant colour: If it is going up and you have not fasted you are going to be red-faced looking at the monitor and will have to go back when the coast is clear!.

In summary you only have to worry about an incompetent physician and a little discomfort!.

* The back of the throat is sprayed with anaesthetic, it hardly seems enough to serve its purpose, let alone cause ill effects!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have had the procedure twice!. I was sedated - therefore it wasn't at all painful!. Afterwards I just had a bad taste in my mouth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know, but buying some multicoloured crockery might help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
