In a week, it will be a year since I've had my Gall bladder removed!.
I didn't know I was given a muscle relaxant, until I started looking at the procedure here online!. It doesn't give any reason why it's given, but I would assume it's to help keep you relaxed, asleep, and easier to do the procedure with!. I know in other surgeries I've had, they gave me a muscle relaxant before, to calm me down!. For gall bladder, I was given anesthesia and slept through procedure!. Afterward, I was given Percocet for pain, Ibuprofen, and something in case I had nausea!.
These were for me to take home!. I ended up using maybe 2 Percocets, a couple of the Ibuprofen, and none of the stuff for nausea!.
Best advice, talk to your Dr!. and see what they say about this!. It has to be done for a reason and I'd assume it's a good one or they wouldn't do it!.
I wish you good luck and good health!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you will not take them, they will be given through an IV, it helps with pain control during the procedure and to help intubate (put the tube in so you can breathe) while under the anesthesiaWww@Answer-Health@Com
