Where does all the gunk GO?!

Sometimes, when I'm putting on makeup, a bit of black eyeliner will get on my eye and it doesn't come out!. It just ends up sliding down to!.!. I guess the back of the eyeball!?
So when you have eye boogers, or makeup that gets into your eye, where does it go!?
Is there like a little deposit of some sort!? Does it float around in the brain!?
