It depends on your personality!. I've never been depressed in my life (at least not clinically), but I absolutely hate to answer the phone, or even talk on the phone in general!.
If you're normally extroverted and talk on the phone often, then it could be a sign of something!. When someone else tells you that you're are depressed, this should be taken with a grain of salt!. While they may certainly see things that you don't, on the other hand, you know things that they don't!. Make sense!? What others may see as depression in you may just be a shy, taciturn, or lethargic personality!.
If you're really concerned though, see your family doctor or counsellor!. Depression does tend to sneak up on people, but fretting about it without action won't help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

YES! I am in an extreme depression and I do the same thing!. I don't want to talk to anyone when I'm depressed!. It certainly is a sign of depression, but thats when we need others the most!. I don't know why it turns out that way!. I just don't want to have to explain why I'm depressed to anyone, and I don't want to be a "wet blanket"!. Now is the time you probably do need to talk to someone about how you're feeling, but I know, its hard!. I'll be praying for you to feel better soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I never answer my phone!!!! The machine always picks it up!!! I'm afraid it's someone from where I work calling me to go in!.!.!. and I don't want to go!! I'm to busy around here to sit and chat too so the way I figure it I own that phone it does not own me! If it's somebody I want to talk to I'll answer it when they start to leave a message, and if I don't want to talk I won't answer it! Unless it's Mom or my kids I answer their calls everytime!!

I don't like answering my telephone either!. Mainly because 90% of the time it is a telemarketer!. I have caller id so when I do know who it is still don't like talking the majority of the time just cause I don't like talking on the phone!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Me either!!!!! I'm so sick of it! I'd much rather let the machine pick up and decide whether it's someone I care to talk to or not!. Rather than see it as a sign of depression, I think it's more of needing some personal space in this modern society we're living in!. At least that's how I feel about it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hahaha yes, probably because of alot of telemarketers!. If you don't answer people you know calls you are just rude!. Communicate, socialize stay happy all the time and live life to its fullest because you only get one chance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
