Question: Hard lump inside of my now removed lip piercing, what is it!?
I've had my lip pierced for 3 months now and it was sore and bothering me and burning so I decided to take it out!. I now feel a big lump or bump inside of it!. It's hard and it is in the INSIDE of the hole!. When I smile there is a bump you can see from where the lump is on the inside!. Does anyone have any idea of what this is and if this is normal!? Could it possibly be swelling or scar tissue!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its not a Keloid, Keloids are outside not inside!. and its driving me nuts that people are saying that!.

What you have is a keloid or a hypertrophic scar!. I'm sending you a medical web page to explain what these are!. It's a risk you take when you pierce your body!. When you go to the studio to get pierced, don't they make you sign a waiver stating that you understand the risks of getting pierced and that they are not going to be held responsible for conditions that occur due to your piercing procedure!? Well, I know a couple people with the same problem as you and they chose not to treat it simply because it's expensive and it can leave more scaring!. You have to treat it and have it removed if changes occur in the color/size

i hate to break this to you but i am a tattoo artist and have done a lot of piercings and bin in the biss awail,
what happened im almost sure of it, you didnt take care of it the right way and thats what made it hurt, what happens is it gets infected and doesnt heal ( yes even after 3 months) you built up alot of scare tissue and that is going to be there until you have a plastic surgeon cut it out!.
also if its a keyloid and its cut out it will actualy get worse (most all the time it gets worse if your race is black )
but the good news is, is you just deal with it and rub it in every day it will get much softer and less bulky!.

it could be just scar tissue!. have you tried to see if you can squeeze anything out of it!? Sometimes my ears get hard lumps in the hole and i can usually get something out of it!. You also could be sensitive to whatever metal was in the ring!. if you cant get anything out and it doesnt get better, i would ask your dr!. good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
It's called a keloid - its scar tissue!. I had one from my belly ring after i first got it - but that was because my sister grabbed it one time and yanked on it right after i got it!.

It's scar tissue! I have the same thing I have had a lip ring for 4 years now and I still have a little bit of scar tissue in there from messing with it when it was infected! It might not go away, But oh well, whats another hole in your head!.!. right!? :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
Could be scar tissue, a cyst, boil, an infection!. You might want to get it checked by your doctor next time you see him/her, though it seems to be somewhat common so there isn't really a hurry!. Happened to my friend before!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
it's scar tissue - - i've got 11 piercings and they have scar tissue - - it's totally normal !. !. but if ur worried about it, see a doctor or call the person/compainy that pierced you :DWww@Answer-Health@Com
Scar tissue, sorry!. There is a chance that some of it could be a latent swelling, and be partially absorbed by your body, which is what you want!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

clean it regularly and the ball will go away!. i have 2 lip piercings and and when i hurt them i get that little ball thing also!.

Totally normal!. It's just a little swollen!. Anytime you are injected or remove a recent piercing, the area generally has that "bump" you're talking aboutWww@Answer-Health@Com

I just got mi lip done 2 months ago!. they said if that happened it was a billed up of puss!. Jus make sure u clean it everyday!.!. Mouth wash ur mouth as much as you can!. It should be ok!Www@Answer-Health@Com
