This is called Sleep Paralysis and is very common!.
Don't worry you won't become paralyzed, have a look at it through Google, just type in sleep paralysis for an explanation!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ya - that's really neat!. There's a "lock" on your muscles when you're asleep!. It keeps you from sleep walking!. Anyway when you're asleep, your muscles are locked down, and sometimes it takes a minute or so to bounce back from that!.
I remember having dreams where somebody told a joke which I thought was terribly funny and I woke up laughing - except that I couldn't really laugh because the muscles just work entirely differently in sleep!. I thought I was laughing, but when I actually woke up I was just breathing hard!.
When you're a kid in college you have the most wonderful, deep, amazing sleep - giant, exciting, spectacular dreams!!!!!!! It's the sleep of the innocent perhaps!. But as you get older these fun things won't happen as much and life takes on a "sameness"!. Too bad, but that's "maturity" - so don't be so darned quick to "mature"!.

I've never heard of anybody actually experiencing a permanent condition based on sleep paralysis!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
