I have always told my older kids, please - the first thing to do is sniff up warm to very warm salt water even though you are stuffed up, it helps loosen the mucus!. No, you won't drown if you don't sniff it into your lungs -- Don't worry - it won't go there!. Then gargle from a separate cup the very warm salt water!. This should be done at least 2 to 3 or more times a day!. You can even do it maybe 10 times a day!. It really helps move the germs away!.!.!. It is a virus and will eventually go away!. Take vitamin C and zinc!. Elderberry lozenges are great for you too!. The supplement zicam is very good spray or nasal stuff!.
Ricola lozenges are very good for any sore throat, too!.

Drink very warm tea - like throat coat!. Vick's vapor rub is good, too!.
