Answers:
Ok, a mom here!.!.!. and an over protective one too!

So here is my two cents!.!.!.

Sit down with her and say "Mom!. I know you aren't comfortable with my getting a piercing!. I know I screwed up by piercing my own tongue!. However, I have thought about a lip piercing for a long time and really would like it done and done by a professional!. I have the money saved and did my homework on the piercer I want to have it done by and I do feel I'm ready!. What can I do to show that this is something I really want!? I'm trying to be responsible here, so help me out!?"

If that doesn't work!. Let it be for a couple of months and bring it back up again!.

And do pay more for a reputable piercer who uses good metal as well!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Either you go with what she is saying or just go and get it done but it will be hard since you'll have to have a parent with you!.If you have an older sister or brother that isn't afraid of your mom maybe they can take you and sign as your mom!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

present an argument on why you want it,{it's your decision not your friends}, that your old enough to take care of it and understand the consequences on getting it done, and prove that you can take care of itWww@Answer-Health@Com

unfortunately your mom is right!. you shouldnt do this!. its realy bad!.

Well, here is the deal!. Being underage is just that!. You are under the age that is considered to be old enough to make your own logical and prudent decisions about your own self!. Another thing to consider is that being that, your mom is responsible for your health and well being!. So, being that, it is NOT your decision to make until AFTER you are 18!. Case in point!. I know a certain teen person that wanted a tattoo!. Being told "no" for the same reasons you have stated, and for the reasons I just stated, she was mature enough to see that it was better to wait until she was 18 and decide then!. When she turned 18 she decided to wait until she was 19 because she saw one of her friends have a NASTY reaction to the ink and had to go to the emergency room (rare, but it does happen) She discussed the tattoo with her parents again!. Her folks said!.!.!.!."well, it is up to you!. But, you are on my insurance and I would prefer you wait until you are employed with your own insurance and able to pay for a health care emergency if it were to happen like this!. How about this!.!.!.wait until you are 25 and I will pay for it!." The mom even put it in writing, and both mom and dad signed it!. She decided to wait until she has her own full time job and insurance to cover it if there were an issue, and then wait until she is 25, if she decides not to want to pay for it!. To me this shows maturity in being able to make decisions!. Your way of it sounds like you are not mature enough and your mom is concerned for that!. I think that you are lucky to have a protective parent because it is showing responsability to your chidren to set healthy boundaries!. I do not think you can convince her at all, especially if she is as much in love with you as I am with my kids!. Just hang out and get the piercing when you are 18 or older!. You have so much time to live and a couple more years won't make much difference in the long run if it is something that you really really did want!.!.!.!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
