Placeboes and illicit drugs?!

Question: Placeboes and illicit drugs!?
This may sound like a dumb question, but I was wondering if a placebo (if believed to be an illicit drug such as Ecstasy) could have the same effect as if it were used as a regular placebo (for medical reasons)!? For instance, if you gave a placebo to someone which looked like an Ecstacy tablet and they believed they were taking Ecstacy, would you notice any effects that would happen if it actually were an illicit drug!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
they might get a bit excited because they think theyre supposed to!.!.but it wouldn't have the same effects as the real thing!. placebos are generally used when testing drugs (one group takes real thing, one takes placebo-but are not told which they are taking) so that you can differentiate the effects of a substance from the 'placebo effect' that can change participants behaviour (when you act differently because you think you should)!. This allows scientists to see the real effects of the drug!. hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com
