Will my remote control get me sick?!

for a story I am writing I was thinking about having my character get herself purposely sick, and I heard once if you lick your remote a few times, especially by the buttons you get sick!.

So my questions are:

1) Will it get you sick
2) If so, what kind of sickness!? (vomiting, flu etc)

Thanks so much for helping me out, and no worries I won't show the story to anyone, it's for my own personal fun so do not worry about kids getting the idea to get themselves sick and miss school :)
