Blood clots are usually deep purple or red in color when they are outside your body!. The symptoms of blood clots really depend on where and why you are having them!. If you have them in your lungs, you can not breathe and it is very painful!.!.!. it can be fatal!. If you have them in your legs or arms, you do have a lot of pain and you also usually have swelling and redness in the affected extremeties!. Blood clots are just basically blobs of blood that has clumped together!. I guess they can be hardened a little when they are older clots and the blood has had a time to dry a bit, mostly they are just bloody though!. People can also pass clots, like in your urine or during menstration!.!.!. there are all kinds of clots! Oh and usually in the hospital they are treated when a blood thinner called heparin!. Drugs like aspirin and coumadin are used to prevent clots, not necessarily treat them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A blood clot is a thickening of ordinary blood!. Since many veins are narrow, to get a blood clot inside, say a lung, it can be extremely dangerous and painful when breathing, requiring hospital care!. That is a description of pulmonary thrombosis!. Aspirin helps to keep the blood from clotting and reduces the possibility of clotting within the body!.
Clotting is an important function of the blood since if you cut yourself and the blood didn't clot and stop flowing, you would bleed to death as in haemophiliacs!.
A blood clot looks much like unclotting blood, just a little darker in colour!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Blood clotting is a natural process in which blood cells and fibrin strands rapidly form a clump to stop bleeding after a blood vessel has been injured!. Eventually the clot will form a protective scab over a wounded blood vessel, allowing it to heal!. If the body did not have the ability to form blood clots, people would bleed to death after even a minor cut!.

Sometimes, however, blood clots form even when a person has not been injured!. Although most blood clots tend to dissolve on their own with no long-term problems, there are situations in which blood clots can cause medical problems!. Blood clots become dangerous when they block blood flow through an artery or vein!.

When a blood clot blocks blood flow to an artery in the heart or brain, a heart attack or stroke may result!. Blood clots can also block veins and arteries throughout the body, causing diseases that range from varicose veins to a life-threatening pulmonary embolism

Blood Clots are jelly-like masses of blood tissue formed by clotting (coagulating) factors in the blood!.that means blood clot is soft!. In addition to medications, special interventional catheters may be used to remove or compress these arterial clots!. that means aspirin can help break blood clot
