Question: Can my mom die if she doesnt stop drinking!? please read the problems she is having!?
k!.!.!.quick run down!. she was sober the whole time i was growing up and a very good parent!. then my lil bro killed himself and she became a drunken crackhead (seriously)!. that was year 2000!. before that she only drank on occasion!. then after my bro died and her and my step dad split up she has been on a NON STOP drinking binge along with many other drugs from time to time!. i know crack, heroin, pills, and god only knows what else!. well here recently she has been having some problems with her health (not too surprising)!. and finally me and my grams got her to go to the doc!. she has OUTRAGIOUSLY high blood pressure and liver enzyme count, an enlarged liver, alcoholic hepatitus, acute liver something or other icr, and about 5 other problems i cant remember the names!. she has diarreah all day long (sorry tmi) and bleeds during sex, cant hardly get up off the couch since she is so lazy and tired!. she is talking with a doc about this and they have advised her to immediately stop drinking!. she is on a bunch of meds but still drinking (docs know that too)!. she said today she felt a bit better and had more energy!.!.!.but did she mess herself up for good!? i have distanced myself from my mom cuz the way she is and refuses to get treatment!. i have kids of my own now and dont want them around it!. but i am worried for her!. also when she gets drunk!.!.!.she isnt like a normal person while drinking!. she turns into friggin jekyll and hyde!! her eyes dialate and she goes NUTS!. throws knifes and destroys the house etc!. its like she has a mental problem on top of everything!. i want an honest answer!.!.!.can she die!? i know in the long run this will catch up and take her sooner than a healthy person but im talking about now!.!.!.or soon!. her stomach is sooo swollen!.!.!.not like beer belly but i mean swollen!. could it be too late even if she does stop now!?

sounds like the early stages of Cirrhosis of the liver to me but im no doc just an ex user myself!. if i were you i would urge her to get checked out asap because continued use of alcohol will kill her if not!. Everything you described are the classic symptoms of alcholism and Cirrhosis and unfortunatly liver damage cant really be reversed just slowed down!. Wiki Cirrhosis and get in touch with Alcoholics anonomous and your family Doc for some better info on how to get her some helpWww@Answer-Health@Com
yes i guess!.!.!.if she does not give the liver enough time to recuperate!.!.she has to stop drinking!.!.at least for a while and then drink on occasions after that!.!.chances are heavy drinking will kill her Www@Answer-Health@Com
The first step is for you, go to Al-anon, they are wonderful people and will help you how to deal with her!. I know how worry you are about your mom but you can not help her unless she want to!. She is very sick and need to be in the hospital and have treatment under a doctor care, then she need to go to a half way house for 4 0 6 month!. She need a lot of help!. Try to go to Al-non or Al-tin!. She also needs psychiatric and psychology help!. Try to call AA to see if they can talk to her!. Don't leave her along!. My best advice is to take her to the doctor, but talk to a doctor first and don't let her know, tell her is just for an examination, but talk to the doctor first!. Your mom is in very dangerous situation and can not be along!. By this time she probably has problem with her liver and I pray to God that is not what I'm thinking!. Just do it asap today, just pray tonight and call AA is a anonymuous call!. God bless you and her and let us know what happen!. If she continue the way she is, Yes she can die, if she got cirrosis there is no cure for her!. Just be patient with her and give all you love!.
