Question: For anyone who's had an MRI!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!. what's it like!?

An MRI of the knee is not bad at all!. You will lie down on your back on a small table!. That table, or tray, will slide you into the MRI machine!. Some places give you headphones to listen to music!. The person taking the MRI will talk to you throughout the test through a microphone!. They will tell you what they will be doing, etc!. It doesn't take that long usually!. Are you claustrophobic!?!.!.!.!.!.the top of the machine is only about 3 inches above your face!. That bothers some people!. Just close your eyes while the MRI is being done and imagine yourself someplace else that you like!.!.!.a beach, or where ever!. That helps!. The machine does make loud clunking noises, too!. All in all it's not bad!. I've had a knee MRI done and also one on my lower back!. It's a great test, so they'll be able to diagnosis whatever is wrong more accurately!. It's a little frightening because it's so loud, but sometimes they'll give you headphones and play a radio station for you to help drown it out!. It's boring, too, because it takes so long!. But it's nothing to worry about, unless you have claustrophobia it's not that bad!. If you do have claustrophobia, tell the doctors beforehand and don't focus on the space!. =) Www@Answer-Health@Com
just boring mostly!.!. i had one done on my head and i layed in the machine (like a round enclosure) for about 30 minutes and it was loud!.!.!. that's about it!. im sure it wont be as loud for you -not having to put your head in there and all :) it's nothing to worry about at all!.!. theyre just taking picsWww@Answer-Health@Com
