Hey i have a really big problem and need someones help!.In August i choked on chipped beef(didn't chew well)!.I was fine for the rest of that week then on that Saturday i had a horrible sensation that something was in my throat!From there on i only ate tamato soup,YUCK!So,I went to get a scope and everything was fine!So,now i am eating pudding,yogurt,baybell cheese!.I was eating butter noodles but just have that feeling that when i swallow i will choke and die!I need some real help and fast!i have a really expensive cruise to go to in December and if im not eating by then i will be toast,Help Help Help plz i need it!thanx!Life spiraling down REAL fast!Www@Answer-Health@Com

This happened to me many years ago!. Oh Sweetie I feel for you! I ate a piece of steak that was too tough and tried to swallow, and choked!. It is scary! I think you are having a bit of "post traumatic stress" from this, and it will eventually pass in time!. But until then, you do need to acknowledge it and be conscious of what you do eat, because the anxiety itself can cause you to swallow improperly and that will just make it worse and worse! Just don't eat anything like roast beef or steak that might be hard to swallow!. You don't have to stick to broth, but just eat stuff that's a bit easier to chew!. well, the butter noodles shouldn't have been too hard!. Perhaps you can ask your doctor to temporarily give you some anxiety medication, or something, just to relax you enough to get through this!. I have had panic disorder throughout my life, and something like this can certainly bring it on!. You can feel so out of control, and at your age, what with the other stuff going on in your body, you are probably a bit more prone to anxiety! You need someone to be supportive and understanding for you right now, and I hope your grandma can be!. Maybe your grandma can go with you to the doctor to discuss it to help her understand that right now you really can't control these feelings!. I fear that not going on this cruise because of it could just make it worse!. So what's the harm if you go anyway and eat soft food!? They probably have some really great food that you would be comfortable eating!. You WILL be fine, you could also try some simple relaxation techniques, like deep breathing, meditating, or praying, if you are religious, ask for help from your higher source!. Good Luck! I had the same problem!. It lasted for a long time!. Ask your Dr!. for anti anxiety meds!. Go on the cruise!. It will take your mind off your problems!.
If there is anything in your throat, a piece of dry bread will clean it out!. Good luck!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ok, my cousin has suffered the same thing as you!.
It's all in the mind!.
Before you eat sit down for a while and tell yourself that you're not going to choke!. If you have doubts after that make sure there is someone there while your eating that way you re-assure yourself that if you do choke someone will be there!. Just think about this as a test and take it slowly deffinately don't rush while your eating!. I hope my advice has helped you and I hope you are well for the cruise!.

Negative emotions (like sadness, stress, anger, etc!.) causes your Serotonin production to be low; when your Serotonin level is low, you are more prone to getting Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Depression, etc!.

Medication like Antidepressants (SSRI - Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor) helps to boost Serotonin level!.

You need to break that initial cycle to destroy that learned behavior - Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) does this!. A technique that you can use without CBT will be Distraction!.!.!. There are several other techniques to help cope them!
