Can staying indoors for a short time in your life cause Agoraphobia?!

Question: Can staying indoors for a short time in your life cause Agoraphobia!?
I am 18 years of age and now currently done highschool and did not enroll into college/university!. I used to stay indoors a lot and play videogames!. Pretty much for the past 2 years actually!. I'm not overweight or ugly or anything like that (or atleast I don't think so) but i'm getting this overwhelming sense of not wanting to leave the house!. Even to go to my friends houses for parties and things i refuse to do 99% of the time!. Could these years indoors have caused me to gain a fear to the outside world!? Or have I always had it and it's just coming out now!? Any suggestions tips!? Greatly Appreciated!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think perhaps staying indoors for so long triggered something that you had that was underlying!. But it doesn't really matter what the cause is!. You may need some professional help to get out there again!.

You might want to try to figure out whether you have social anxiety disorder or actually fear of just leaving the house!. What about going to the grocery store and such!? Are you afraid of that, too!? Or more going to any social events!.

I don't have any specific suggestions for what to do for this, but if you have a lot of anxiety you might benefit from the use of antistress type of CDs!. http://www!.healthjourneys!.com/ (I don't work for this company, but I use these products a lot for myself)!.

Best to you -- you can overcome this but it may take work and outside help!.

You need to create a routine or structure in your life, for outside activities!. A good balance is important!. Behaviour patterns won't change overnight, but u need to be persistant and slowly break the habits, and push yourself out of the comfort zone!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do you actually have panic attacks if you go outside or get anxious just thinking about having to leave the house!? If you don't then I don't think your developing Agoraphobia!. Probably just anti-social or extremely lazy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
