Question: Is the private health service worth it, rather than the NHS, how do you apply for it!?
Answers:
You pay a specialist health insurance company such as BUPA or Norwich Union a premium every month!. Check their websites for details!. A lot of employers will offer private healthcare as a 'benefit' which is certainly worth having!. For the private consumer, the premiums can be quite steep!. Ultimately you usually end up being treated by the same consultants as work on the NHS, only much faster, and the standard of care is better!. Eg my father in law had to endure three years of pain waiting for a knee operation on the NHS, rather than step straight in for treatment on BUPA!. So whether it's valuable or not is a choice only you can make!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My GP said I would do better to save the money to use if I wanted private treatment rather than pay premiums for something that might not happen!.
If you are young, fit and can afford it check various organisations like PPP and BUPA, see what they offer and note the exclusion clauses, then make an informed decision!.
Most clinics and hospitals have a fixed price for a procedure deal, ie you pay the stated price and it covers you for any complications that may arise!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

As a one off you can simply phone up, make an appointment, and pay for it yourself!. I did this once when I needed a test done, and wanted it done quickly as I was holding off trying to conceive until the results were in (my parents helped pay)!. I saw a consultant a lot more quickly than I would otherwise have done, he agreed that I needed the test, and then slotted me back into the NHS again to have the actual diagnostic test done!.

It is worth it, as you're treated far quicker!. We indeed pay for treatment from the NHS, but will have to wait for some forms of treatment!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have paid for your treatment with the NHS!. Use it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
