It depends on what you are going to do with it!. Many bullets, the part of a round of ammunition that is expelled at high speed by a gun, are made of lead!. Lead that gets into your blood stream can cause a lot of real problems!. Lead is comparatively soft so handling it causes minute lead bits to rub off on your hands!. Your hands go to your mouth or eyes without you even knowing it and you get lead in your system!.
There are a very few bullets that are designed to blow up on impact, they have powder in the bullet itself!. These are very very rare and usually hand made by a nut case!. If it is that kind of bullet it is dangerous!. nut jobs also hand make mercury tipped bullets and mercury in your blood stream is even worse than lead!.
In general there should be no problem keeping it if you just put it in a drawer!.
I did know a guy who had a bullet, !.223 size, drilled out so he had it on his key chain!. When he went to Jamaica for a vacation he was arrested for "importing" ammunition!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you must mean !.32 caliber, as a 32mm bullet would be insanely huge - about 1!.25 inches in diameter!.
Yes, you can keep it!. It's just a piece of lead, probably covered with copper based on your description!.
If it's not damaged, it may never have been shot!. You can buy parts to reload or make your own ammunition!. If you know someone who does this, you could ask them to set it in a cartridge base for you to make a very cool keychain (obviously without the powder and primer), like one of these: http://www!.bulletkeychainsetc!.com/Www@Answer-Health@Com
