Answers:
First, as for the above answers, opiates don't enlarge the pupils, they constrict them!.

Have you checked your pupils the same way, under the same background light conditions before, so you know this is new!? Or did you try this one day recently, a couple of times!.

There are two ways your pupils dilate: If there is less light (react), or if you are trying to focus on something up close (accommodate)!.

If you look in a mirror, then increase the light, then look in the mirror again, you will tend to focus more intently on checking out your pupils the second time!. This will make your pupils dilate, which will counteract the constriction from the light, so it will seem your pupils did not react!.

Also, in what seems like a dim room to you, pupil size may be fairly constricted!. There is more light than you realize!. Humans used to spend a lot more time in very dim light, before modern lighting!. Our pupils operate in a narrow range of "mostly constricted" compared to our ancestors!.

Perhaps you could have a friend look at your pupils, going from very dim to fairly bright light!. Good luck!.

Edit: Well, the new prescription is your lead suspect, along with whatever condition you are taking it for!. Also, if I am very tired, my pupils don't constrict well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The immediate suspicion is that many drugs (usually hard street drugs like cocaine, meth, heroin, and abused prescription drugs) give a tell-tale sign of abuse with eye pupils that will not dilate!.

I would strongly consider what drugs you are taking and research it from there!.

Also, when you watch "Cops" on TV, you may have noticed they always check for eye pupils that don't dilate because it means they are a chronic drug user, whether it be street or prescription drugs!. If you haven't seen it, you should check it out!. Maybe you could be on the show!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Im wondering how you tested this!.

The pupil reacts very quickly to a sudden increase of light; in fact so fast that you can hardly see that yourself, since you are blinded for a short moment!.
As soon as you do see again, the pupil allready corrected for the amount of light at that moment (where you most likely took the light away)

You can do it with 1 eye and a mirror and a flashlight, but not with 2 eyes!.

If there is no reaction im afraid you are braindead!.!.!. sorry ;]Www@Answer-Health@Com

Did you previously undergo some sort of head trauma, surgery, or a seizure!?

That's very common, it could easily cause this sort of problem!.

Additionally, you could be very sexually aroused, more alert, or have weak pigment in your retina!.

I assume that you have a disc in your spine that moved one way very very slightly, but that can be corrected by a chiropractor, easily!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Other than drug use, any other medical reason is pretty serious!. Go see your Dr!. If you know you have used some drugs (including prescription pain meds) then that is the cause!. If you have not, then this is a neurological symptom that should not be ignored!. Even if you have no insurance you need to be seen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Did you recently get hit or knocked on the head!? Any recent falls!? I'm not a doctor but I remember hearing that enlarged pupils were a sign of a concussion!.

Even if you don't think it's a concussion, I think you should get it checked out by a doctor immediately!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
