Question: Can having a serious mental illness such as depression kill you!?
i know you can die by suicide, but for example, me, i have major depressive disorder with psychotic features, anxiety, insomnia, irritability and paranoia!. I was reading that having depression alone can shorten your life do to the toll it takes on your body, since it affects your whole body!.
Ive also heard it can cause you lots of heart problems, even heart disease and heart attacks!. What else can it cause, or how else does it affect you!? and by me having these different complications, is my life shortened already!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You sound like you're stressed out just thinking about it! It can't kill you in a direct way!. It's just plain unhealthy!. Stress and depression can affect you're body and immune system!. It can raise blood pressure and it effects how you feel and behave!.
You are still very young and I hope you will overcome these challenges!. Keep yourself busy doing enjoyable things as much as you can!. Make sure you take care of yourself in other ways, such as with regular exersice - which is said to help us deal with stress and depression more effectively!. I wish you luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i think so!.!. sadly!. i have!.!. well a stupid diagnosis too and so I have read a LOT about it!. There are things you can do to help lessen the negative effects (like learning stress management, relaxation techniques, even exercise) but I have read that it it a huge toll on the different systems of your body!.

I'm sure it can!. Are you positive it's all in your head or could it be paranormal!. I know that sounds nuts but I think your experiencing a lot because I have depression with psychotic features and all those things would make you legally insane!. I'd try calling the parapsychologist at witchescorner!.com right away!. She's really good with this kind of thing!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
Anxiety can contribute to a heart attack/stroke which can kill you!. Don't worry, you'll be fine!. Just keep taking medication and seeing your psychiatrist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
