Had irregular heart beat and couldnt breath, lots of pain, help?!

Question: Had irregular heart beat and couldnt breath, lots of pain, help!?
When i was in 8th grade, one day after athletics, my lungs closed up!. i couldnt breathe at all, and if i tried i felt a really sharp shooting pain all through my body, i couldnt even stand straight up!. i managed to walk to my grandmas house across the street from the gym and collapsed on the couch, and was slowly regaining my ability to breath!. idk what happened, but she used to be a nurse and was taking my blood pressure and pulse and such, and told me to go to the doc and tell them i have an irregular heart beat!.

What do you think caused this to happen to me!? and does having an irregular heart beat at the time of the incident make it worse!? I have occasional chest pain still, and today its been hurting over my heart area and that reminded me of when i collapsed after practice!. what should i do!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Gabe I am not a doctor but it sounds to me like a classic panic attack!.

Panic attacks are sudden, discrete periods of intense anxiety, mounting physiological arousal, fear, stomach problems and discomfort that are associated with a variety of somatic and cognitive symptoms!. The onset of these episodes is typically abrupt, and may have no obvious triggers!. Although these episodes may appear random, they are a subset of an evolutionary response commonly referred to as fight or flight that occur out of context!. This response floods the body with hormones, particularly epinephrine (adrenaline), that aid in defending itself from harm!. Experiencing a panic attack is said to be one of the most intensely frightening, upsetting and uncomfortable experiences of a person's life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
