I gave up smoking 5 months ago & done really well. Was so proud of myself?!

Question: I gave up smoking 5 months ago & done really well!. Was so proud of myself!?
I used to smoke like 40 a day!. Been smoking bout 15 years so it was a real achievement!.
But for the past week I've started again (a couple a day) and now I can't seem to stop!!! Can I possibly be addicted already or does anyone think I can beat it again!?!?!?

Planning to lock myself away all weekend wiv lots of films to watch and just chill, which I'll enjoy especially as the weather is so cold and awful!.

Will I be able to beat this by doing that over the weekend!?!? I had done so well and I'm so annoyed wiv myself for thinking that it would be ok to smoke a couple of times and that it wouldn't affect me!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have done the same thing many times myself!. i have had success with locking myself in at home for the weekend to get over when i started back up and only had a few a day for a week or so!. i managed to quit again by staying in and getting through the "detox" over a weekend!.

however later i just started back up!. it is such a hard habit to break!. i say try your weekend plan and be extra nice to yourself!.

i wish you the very best of luck!. i'm planning to quit again very soon and i am hoping it will be for the last time!Www@Answer-Health@Com

the second time is so much hard to quit!. And locking yourself in all weekend will just make it worse, because that's all you'll think about!. The best thing to do it, go out with friends, and do something to get your mind off smoking!. If that doesn't help you can see your doctor and he can prescribe you medication to help you quit!.

Yes you are addicted, if you werent you wouldnt have started in the first place!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I gave up about 18 months ago - I also smoked nearly 40 a day for many years-I have been tempted many times to have just one but always managed to stop myself by remembering the smell or going out shopping and smelling stale cigarettes outside the shops - it's lovely to think that all I smell of now is perfume! Please try again and good luck!

You're addicted to the nicotine!. You stopped and broke the habit but you started right back again!. It takes 21 days to break any habit or addiction!. You may want to try the patch!. It worked for me!.

I too stopped for about 5 months then decided I wanted a cigarette!. I smoked then couldn't stop!. I got another box of patches but I only needed to use a couple in order to quit!. I was already ready to quit so the patch just helped me get through the nicotine fits for the 1st couple days while I relied on my faith to get me through the rest!.

You can do it!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.just do it!. Also, call the 1-800-no -butts!. They'll talk you through a nic fit!. Mine was so bad before I got the patch, I actually cried because I wanted a cigarette!. That let me know I was being controlled by the cigarettes and it was really time to stop!.

You can do it!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
