You need to do time outs and explain why!.!.1 minute for every year the child is ex: 1 year 1 min and so forth!. i was takin from my dad as a kid only because he beat me and when he did he was angry and he was like taking his frustrations out to hurt me but they say if you are the parent you need to take timeout before you spank a child because if you are mad and dont know what you are doing you could be abusing a child because then you will also say hurtful mean things that will affect a child in the long run its also a part of ptsd (post traumatic stress disorder)which i have now from those experiances from child abuseWww@Answer-Health@Com

There is nothing wrong with spanking!. You won't go to jail!.!.!. In our city, if you feel like you are going to beat the child because of his wrong doing you can call the police and tell them to come watch you spank your child so they can witness that you are not abusing him

The Cons -- if you've never felt the belt on the bare butt you have no idea the distinctive STING the belt (or strap) imparts to the butt!! After several licks, we get feeling that we just CAN'T take any more licks!. But dad seems to know how many we "need" so just continues till he is finished!!
Abusive!? Not really!.Within an hour or so most of the soreness is gone; just don't be too anxious about sitting for a while!. No big deal though!.
Pros: We need a lesson; it is applied to our backside, we learn (quickly) and are not wanting a repeat for a while! But it sure is better than being grounded!!!
