Is this bad for your back?!

Question: Is this bad for your back!?
lower back!? i usually do this in the morning, but sometimes i hang off of my bathroom sink, just supporting my whole body weight on my arms, letting my back dangle!. this hurts like heck for some reason!. is that because the back is decompressing!? i endure the pain for a while, then if i do it again, it seems not to hurt as much!.

is it good to take the weight off your spine like that!? is that good pain or bad pain!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Actually, that practice is very good for your back!. I do it all the time for my back as well!. It hurts temporarily because the tight muscles are being forced to stretch!.!.!. and that's a good thing!. But hanging like that separates the disks and vertebrae and allows the circulation to get in to tight areas!. It's kind of like inversion therapy!.!.!. without turning upside down!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My doctor decompressed my back regularly to relieve pressure on the nerves radiating from the spinal cord!. I think it helped!. If you can have a doctor examine it, then do that!. We all need to take better care of our backs!. I have degenerative disc disease in mine, and it hurts sometimes!. I worked too hard out in the oil field and in lumber yards when I was younger!. It wasn't worth what I got paid!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi sweetie, I'm having a hard time picturing this, as you describe!.

It hurts, so maybe it isn't the best way!.

Traction, or being upside down, suspended by the feet lets gravity work on the spine, STRAIGHT, not bending it in any way!. There are all kinds of devices (Many bogus) and exercises to relax and stretch the spine allowing the disks to have less pressure, but why do you think you need to do this!?

All of it revereses to an extent when we stand up again anyway, and any "stooping" IE: poor posture adds stress to the spine, especially in what it has to support in upper body weight!. Obviously we can't always walk around like soldiers at attention, but we need to make time for our major support system to recvover from anything, including the proper way to stopp/ kneel, and lift anything heavy!.

No pain is good pain!. It's a message, STOP, or re-think what you are doing!.

Hugs,
