Question: Is it normal to get a fever after getting drunk!?
There was a party a few days ago and I stayed sober to take everyone home, but one of my friends got seriously wasted, passed out, and when we took him home he had a temperature of up to 100!.4 F!. No one had ever had a fever after passing out drunk before so we didn't really know what to do!. He was sweating and breathing hard!. Thankfully his fever broke after a few hours while he was still passed out, but is that normal!? He woke up the next day with only a hangover!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes !.!.!. it's known as alchohol poisoning !.!.!. some people's physical chemistry can handle alcohol better than others - that's why some people can get drunk on one glass of alcohol while for others it can take a few - the same goes for the type of alcohol - some people can drink beer and handle it well but can't handle wine or spirits!.!.!.!.!. it's usually as a teen that we get to find out what we can handle in the way of drink!.!.!.!. and as in our twenties and thirties when we find out tolerance of different alcohols changes!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I live in south Louisiana where there is a lot of drinking and alcohol but I have never heard of anyone enduring a fever with alcohol or the hangover!. I think your friend should go see a doctor!. Maybe he had picked up a virus or was allergic to some type of alcohol!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Usually when I drink my body temperature rises!. 100!.4 is less than 2 degrees above normal!. If it were higher I would be more worried!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
ive heard an excessive amount of alcohol lowers your immunity!. alcohol can be like poison!. fevers are a way our body heals itself!. he was just riding the storm!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
No this is not normal!. Did he take some pills like - even Advil, or Alleve or Asprin or cold medicine that day too!? Could have an effect if you mix alcohol and drugs!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
