Combined with a head cold I think it is pretty normal, I have had a sinus cold for two weeks and I have the same + brushing my back teeth and chewing anything crunchy sounds super loud!. Your eustachian tubes are probably clogged up!. If you don't have high blood pressure you could try taking some over the counter decongestants!.

This "seems" to indicate that your cold is producing pressure :

"(as a ringing or roaring) that is caused by a bodily condition (as a disturbance of the auditory nerve or wax in the ear) and typically is of the subjective form which can only be heard by the one affected!." ****

Rather than seeking layman's help here, I personally believe that it vital and essential that you seek professional medical advice!. I!.e!., go and see your doctor, or visit a walk-in clinic, or the emergency room at the nearest hospital!.

You may need much more than just words and home cures advice!. Going to see a doctor may save your hearing in that one ear!.

You may have an infection and may need to be treated with special antibiotics to keep the swelling from increasing and/or to reduce the swelling; and, to prevent further or permanent damage!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cold may have effect on it as they are ears and nose are connected by the eustachian tube and ucus might have build up or went onto it that clogged or pooled onto the ears!.

Avoid aspirin they can be ototoxic or could cause hearing problems!.
Otitis media is another posssibility!. Are you cleaning our ears often!?
If you do, you may have caused small wound, that inflamed inside the ears and the infection formed!. Do you have colored wax was it greenish!? black!? fluid like movement in ears and painful is probably otitis media!.
Seek the doctor if it persist longer than 2 weeks!. Its chronic by that time!. It is taking longer!. Promt or early detection is a good key to health!.

I too got small one and I now cleanse my ears using cotton buds after bathing every other day!.

Using the metal/wood ear cleaner is just not my type!. But I use them weekly!.=)

It could just be a wax build up due to your cold or it could be tinnitus, regardless of what you listen to or your age!.!.in either case you need to see your doctor and get it sorted asap!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
