Why does drinking alcohol speed my pulse up instead of slowing it down?!

Question: Why does drinking alcohol speed my pulse up instead of slowing it down!?
I know it's a depressant, but when I drink alcohol my heart beats faster and quite hard, too!. It freaks me out sometimes because when I drink I can often feel my heart beating hard against my rib cage!.
I always thought alcohol would slow my heart rate, not speed it up, so why does this happen!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

That does sound scary, but it is actually quite normal to have this kind of reaction to alcohol!. Your body is simply reacting to the toxic effects of the poison you are ingesting!. In large part the increase in heart rate may be due to becoming dehydrated while you drink(or maybe you were already dehydrated!?)!. Alcohol promotes urine production since your body is trying to eliminate the poisonous alcohol, which leads to dehydration!. The heart beats faster when you're dehydrated, to maintain sufficient blood flow to your organs!.

It is well known that the smaller you are in terms of body mass, the more alcohol will effect you!. If you are a virgo or a pisces, alcohol will effect you more!. Actually, I was just joking about that, there is no correlation between zodiac signs and how alcohol effects the body!. In general, the same amount of alcohol has more of an effect on women than men, a fact that so many horny men love!. The effects are even more pronounced in east Asians, since they don't produce as much liver enzyme as caucasians!. Alcoholism is rare among them!.

If you're going to drink it might be best to drink some water or juice before or after due to the effect it is having on the heart!. Maybe you are even deficient in electrolytes, which help regulate heart rate among other things - alcohol helps to remove electrolytes through the urine!. If you're a regular drinker(a drink or two once a week or more), b-vitamin supplements may also be useful on the day you are drinking or after since alcohol destroys thiamine(vitamin B1)!. If you drink and smoke at the same time, that is double trouble for your body, since there is a kind of "synergy" in the level of harm the combination of alcohol and tobacco can do to the body!.

While alcohol is a depressant, is really isn't all that great for helping you relax!. This is especially true of sleep!. While alcohol may help you fall asleep, it does not promote deep, restful, rejuvenative sleep!. The body has to work hard removing the alcohol and alcohol byproducts from the body, requiring much energy, and leading to dehydration!. It can't truly be "relaxed" if it has to go through so much effort detoxifying!.

It is always important to note that it is *NOT* absolutely necessary to drink alcohol if you are socializing with others or for any other reason, especially if the toxic effects are very pronounced in you!. If you ever feel like you have to be pressured into it, maybe it is not really your thing!. Your friends and family should be understanding of this!. These effects may even indicate a medical condition, or you are just small or very slim!. Your body could adapt to the alcohol and the effects may be less noticeable over time, however, just because you can adapt to something doesn't make it "good"!. The Net makes it very easy to find out all the negative effects alcohol has on the body, which far outweigh the supposed benefits which are not unique to alcohol anyway!. Some of the effects are quite subtle and even surprising!. In women, alcohol is linked to an increased risk for breast cancer, and in both sexes is linked to brain shrinkage!. For these reasons, I almost never drink beyond a couple of sips a few times a year!. There are better ways to relax and socialize!. I hope this information helps!.

Ok, believe it or not, when u drink alcohol even though its a depressant, it speeds up your metabolism and lets your hidden inhibitions run free!. When u drink, u feel more animated, so your brain waves increase as it wants to let loose of whatever u have been holding inside you!. So more activity is going on inside your mind, which in-turn makes your body more motivated to keep up with your mind!. Also you cant forget that your heart is also working to pump the alcohol through your system!. Alcohol travels through the body like a wildfire because it absorbs itself into every water based cell it runs into, which we know EVERY cell in your body is water based!. So the faster it goes through your system, the faster your body gets rid of it!. One more thing, your liver is pretty much the only thing thats built to breakdown all that alcohol that goes into your system, so the more you drink the harder everything is gonna work in order to purify your system!.
I hope this helps answer your question!. :-)

P!.S!.= Im not sure if the high blood pressure thing has anything to do with it or not!.!.!.!. Sorry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Alcohol increases your blood pressure!. Even though you often feel much more relaxed and uninhibited than normal your BP nevertheless goes up every time you drink alcohol so that causes your heart beat to increase and also your pulse!.

People with high BP problems are normally advised to limit their alcohol intake!. The less the better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
