Simply put you lie down on a stretcher and are inserted into a machine that photographs your insides section by section, so that without opening you up the doctor can get a graphic image of your internal organs, bones any thing and everything!. A CT (computerised tomography) scanner is a special kind of X-ray machine!. Instead of sending out a single X-ray through your body as with ordinary X-rays, several beams are sent simultaneously from different angles!.
