Question: Is general anesthesia dangerous!? !?
I've had surgery before and was scared about General Anesthesia!. I don't know why but maybe it's the lack of control that freaks me out!. The deep sedation I think I won't wake up or they'll give me too much that will send me to the other side!. LOL!. no I'm serious!. I have anxiety problems and this is something that freaks me out!. I may have to get my gallbladder removed and I'm so scared of having general anesthesia!. Am I over reacting!? Is General Anesthesia dangerous!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

yes of course its slightly dangerous !.!.!. but the medical view is that not removing your gallbladder is far more dangerous!.
if your so scared, there are other ways in which you can stay awake during surgery!. why not discuss these with your doctor!?
however from past experience, its the best way!. i had surgery recently (im preggo and had an emergency appendix removal, with open stomach surgery) and i had to have an epidural, where they completely numbed from my chest down, and it was the most horrible thing ive experienced - from having to be awake, to the feeling of paralysis i got from it, it was just horrible!.
If you have anxiety problems, perhaps a general is best!.
Go for the anesthesia!. Realise these people are trained, they do them every day, and the chances of anything going wrong are so incredibly miniscule, its not really worth worrying over!

I have had close to 50 surgeries and have yet to have issues with anesthesia except for them not being able to get a breathing tube down!. It can be dangerous, but it usually is fine!. Talk to your doctors about your fear!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
General anesthetic requires a consent form so that you acknowledge there may be complications!. GA has been known to cause death, but so has driving a car and walking down the street for that matter!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
they have machines to monitor your brain waves and heart rate!. if they give you too much or too little, they'll know!. that's what anesthesiologists are for!.
