Question: I Think I Used The Wrong Cure!. How Should I Cure This Cold!?
For two full months I have had a very sore throat, sinuses, headache, gruff voice, run down feeling, queasy stomach and various aches and pains and crushing chest pain!.
To cure it once and for all Friday I started taking 'Suphedrine PE' with chlorpheniramine maleate, phenylephrine, drank lots of water and orange juice and put on the patch (I confess I did have 5 cigarettes Saturday) and did not drink any alcohol this weekend!.
It seems to have had the reverse effect!. I feel horrible and my throat is very, very sore!.
Dont even suggest going to a doctor, but what over the counter cure should I try next weekend!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

A "cold" is caused by one of several viruses for which there is no CURE as yet!. Treatment of the infection consists of treating the symptoms!.
NO COLD LASTS 2 MONTHS !!!!
I suspect allergy compounded by smoking (not a criticism, I can't seem to quit either)!.
Your "home treatments" are not conducive to good health, and may well be compounding the problem!.
What is this idea that you should have treatment only on weekends!?
And why did you mention no alcohol last weekend!? I think there is more to that story!.

Look in your sore throat with a flashlight and see if it has spots or marks in it!. If it does you probably have strep throat!. If you do, that infection is causing alot of your other problems and there is no over the counter cure for strep!. You'll have to go to the doc for antibiotics!. Letting these symptoms go on is only hurting yourself physically and eventually in your wallet!. If you avoiding the dr!. because of money consider how much an ER visit costs, staying n the hospital a couple days, or an ambulance ride!. To walk in an ER these days it usually STARTS at $400 and an ambulance if you pass out usually STARTS at about $275-$300!. GO TO THE DR!.!!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com
