Staying awake - 40 hours?!


Question: Staying awake - 40 hours!?
Hello! I have two questions

Firstly, Me and my friends are planning to stay awake for 40 hours, as a competition!. How dangerous is it to stay up for that long!. I know it's not that long time, but how much harm can it do to your body!. (Im trying to prove a point to my mum so give good reasons!)

And Secondly, What can i do to make myself stay awake for that long!? I can stay up all night pretty easily, but what can i do too stay awake for longer!? (Not scull energy drinks or anything)

Answers:
Keep yourself busy!. No sitting down and watching a movie!. Keep yourself up and busy!.
Don't eat a lot of warm foods!. (Comfort foods!.) They'll lull you into feeling that you need sleep, more!. Cold stuff is good!.
Blink a lot, and yawn!. But again, make sure you're yawning when you're up and moving about!. This will keep your eyes awake!. There's nothing like your eyes getting tired!. It makes everything seem like all of you needs to sleep!.
Don't do anything you find boring!. If you have to do homework, try and do it standing up and pacing!.
Work out every 10 hours!. Go for a run!. Then take a cold shower!. Nothing like a cold shower to wake you up!. ;)

It shouldn't be a problem for you!. You're right!. 40 hours isn't a long time!. You'll hit the really rough points around 3 AM, so just be careful, and make sure that you haven't stopped moving, even though everyone else is asleep, and it's dark!.

For your mom's concern, it's not unhealthy!. It's a little bit STUPID, yeah, but you only live once, and there's no harm in having a little bit of a social and physical experiment!. ;) There are some things that parents need to put limits on, but this is something that she should just let you do, as long as you promise not to be a pain to her!. She can laugh at you when you nod off in your cereal, etc!. There's no harm done in this!. Pick your battles!. This shouldn't be one of them!. Honestly, if I were your mom, I would laugh hysterically at you, and say "Go for it!!"Www@Answer-Health@Com

It will not really harm your body but you will not be able to use you brain as well!. Your reaction times will slow and it may take longer to process Information!.

Watch TV, use the computer, try to make your brain work as much as possible but do not drive or do any other dangerous activity!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

I dont believe it to be unhealthy at all and dont see any risks associtated with it, well as long as you arent constantly up 40+ hours!. What your doing seems pretty harmless IMO!. I have been up 40+ hours many times and im just fine hehe, maybe once or twice month when im swampped with work being in college and all!. I find that one cup of coffee after 20 hours does the trick!. but thats me, not sure what will work for you but best of luck manWww@Answer-Health@Com
