Answers:
Wow, you are in a tough situation!
Caring for sick people is hard work, physically and emotionally!.
It may help you to know that older men, who are used to being in control, are really whigged out and impatient with the idea of being more helpless than usual!. Add worries about finances and their identity (of being chief family caretaker), and you often get a real pain in the, um, neck!. Just knowing why he's being like this can help some!.
You are in an especially difficult situation, since he is the dad, and thus the boss of you (for the most part)!. Maybe respectfully appealing to his reason and a little directness can help!. Something like "I know you don't feel good, but I need you to help me take care of you!. Please stop with the yelling and nasty comments!." Also, if you can get him to talk about what's really bothering him or, even something he likes doing that he can do after he gets better, these things can lighten the mood!.
You are a great daughter for being so patient, and a good person for taking care of your dad!. Pat yourself on the back, you deserve it!
Sending good wishes that you both feel better soon!. : )Www@Answer-Health@Com
