Why cant i fall asleep?!?!


Question: Why cant i fall asleep!?!!?
i havent been asleep before 4:30 all week!. last night was the worst-i stayed up all night, and i didnt fall asleep until 8:30 in the morning! i woke up at 12:00 so i would be tired for tonight!. and i just layed in bed all night!. and im still not tired!. i try to get as little sleep as possible so i will be tired at night, but no matter how much or little sleep i get-i cant go to sleep!. i shut everything off so it was completely dark in my room for like 2 hours and nothing! so i tried reading and studying-wide awake!. so i did like 10 minutes of lunges and squats and other exercises-not tired at all!.

how do i fall asleep!? it seems like im only tired when i need to be awake, but when i can sleep, i instantly wake up!. what is wrong!!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

You may have to much Caffeine like drinking coke, tea and coffee; maybe there is allot on your mind like family stress, relationships or friends; or stress from school or work!. You may have a sleeping problem like Insomnia!. I looked it up and around 64 americans have it also it is more as it occurs 1!.4 more times in women than men!. buy some otc sleeping medication and take it for about a week to get you back on schedule!.

i normally have no problem going to sleep but if i stay up really late for 1 night, it throws me all out of whack for the rest of the week!. tylenol PM is my savior!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try counting!. I just count my breaths, usually on both the inhale and exhale!. It's slow, regular and boring!. Don't worry if you lose count; just start over, or continue from where you lost count!. Losing count is a good sign!. I seldom count over six hundred before I'm out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Warm milk and try Melatonin 3mg!. You can get it at any pharmacy!. Get off the tread mill that just tightens you up!. This may or may not help, called white noise!. A fan can create this for you!. If these tidbits

You may have insomnia and you should talk to a physician about starting prescription sleep aids like lunesta or ambien!. You can also try advil/tylenol pm they both work fairly well and are non-addictive!. The main reason you can't fall asleep is because you have unhealthy sleeping patterns, but this is just a vicious cycle!. namely, how do you correct bad sleeping habits perpetuated by bad sleeping habits!? you just need to try to get to sleep regularly!. Sleep at a regular time every night, with no noise and sleeping on your back!. It helps!. I have really bad sleep habits too!. I can stay awake for over 40 hours straight without crashing and I've stayed up through all hours of the night even until 10am!.

Stop drinking coffee and cola after 6pm!.
Go to bed about 1:30am
Read a bit of mills and boon or some easy story, not horror or violence, in bed!. 1 or 2 chapters!.
Turn off the lights and do this relaxation exercise

Lie down first!.

Starting with your feet, clench all the muscles in your feet for 10 seconds, then relax them fully
Next, leaving your feet relaxed, tense the leg muscles for 10 seconds then relax them fully!.
Next, stomach muscles, same
next, hand muscles, then arm muscles, neck muscles then last face muscles!.
Your whole body should now be fully relaxed!.
Now count slowly backwards, just in your mind, from 1000 to zero!. When you reach zero, count slowly up to 999, then down to zero, then up to 998 etc!.
Even if you don't sleep, this will relax you and you will feel better!. Don't worry if you lose count, just start again from 1000

I know exactly where your coming from, been there and it ain't too nice!. You are at a point of over tiredness and you need to break the cycle!. Are you anxious!?!? have you things to worry about!?!?!.

This is what I recommend:
Turn off the Pc, TV and all electronic equipment!.
Take a long hot bath!.
Drink yourself a cuppa of hot chamomile tea
Go to bed with a book about nothing!.
close your eyes as soon as they feel tired and take long deep breaths!. Don't exercise, you get the blood circulating and it will wake you more!.
You can buy some Valerian herbs in drop or tablet form from the health store for a calming effect!.

I honestly think its your computer keeping you up!. It gives you things like yahoo answers to sit and play on all hours of the day, an internet that has endless answers, and well!.!.!. you hardly ever get bored on it!. Tis' the reason why I have heard of some people actually dying from starvation/dehydration from "forgetting" to eat/drink cuz they were playing on the computer day in and day out!. Eventually you will either hit a huge low and you will end up sleeping endlessly until you catch up on sleep or your body will adjust to the new "routine" that you've made for yourself!. Then again all that could be false and you may just have issues, and if thats the case grab some Nyquil and knock yourself out lol hehe g'luck with that :pWww@Answer-Health@Com
