I think my daughter was masturbating in the shower?!

Question: I think my daughter was masturbating in the shower!?
I went in to tell her to "hurry up" and the water was muffled like the shower head was pressed against her belly!. When I spoke it sounded as if she jumped!. How can I tell if she was playing with herself!? And if she was what should I do!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
this is normal!. We are all sexual beings!. Would you rather she came home pregnant or with an STD!. bet you did it to as a teenager!. It's nothing to be ashamed of!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Experimenting is perfectly normal, most teenagers masturbate!. There's really nothing you can or should do!.

Whether she is or not is kind of not your business!. I would NOT flat out ask her if she was or wasn't!. It's a good way to close off any and all discussion of sex for the rest of her teen years!. If she is old enough to want to experiment with her sexuality, without becomming sexually active, you need to give her some privacy!.!.!. if she can't trust you to let her alone in the shower, then she won't trust you at all when it's time to talk about BIG decisions like, having sex!.

If you haven't done so, this is a good time for "the talk!." Make sure she's informed and is aware of your preferences (without scaring or threatening her!.!.)!. Again, if she can't trust you now, she's not going to even try later when it's much more important!.

Whoa, wait, you're a guy!?!? Do you realize that by going in while she's naked you set yourself up for a child protective services investigation and all kinds of abuse accusations!.!.!.!? - your daughter is MUCH too old for you to be in the bathroom with her!. Send in your wife if you have to, but at 13, your daughter needs privacy while bathing!.

Dude!. There is NO way to tell!. She could have just been washing!. And your disaproval doesn't really mean all that much!.!.!.you can give her your opinnion, but I'm telling you if you lecture and forbid it and make her feel bad about masturbating, you're going to close off any and all further discussion!.!.!. you run a BIG risk of her rebelling by having pre-marital sex (and doing God knows what else ) just to spite you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nothing!. That's what you should do!. It isn't anything to do with you!. She is 13 and like all young people is finding out what life is all about!. If you go making accusations or making her think that masturbation is something to be ashamed of, you will cause a good deal of psychological hurt to your daughter and it may give her problems about sex later on in life!.

Honestly, if this is the first time you've come across this, let it go!. There is a such thing as a sex addiction (Yes masturbation and pornography addictions are under this type of addiction), but if this is the first time I wouldn't worry!. If began to suspect this is a bigger problem try to find an adult female that she knows and trusts to talk to her!. This really is a normal thing for a 13 year old girl!. Pretty much everybody goes through a stage like this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

That is totally normal!. Leave her alone!. I have a 13 yr old son as well and I don't worry about him doing that because to me it is normal!. They are discovering themselves!. But if you think she is doing that, you should start talking to her about sex!. I started talking to my son about sex since he was very young!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

why would it matter, would it matter to you if she was a boy!?
there is nothing wrong with what she is doingWww@Answer-Health@Com

nothing u ****** pervWww@Answer-Health@Com

First of all, if you are her father you have NO business opening the bathroom door on her at all! That is just morally unacceptable!. Second, she has all the right in the world to explore her body, its a natural part of human sexual development and there is nothng you can do about it!. Whether she masturbates or not, is her own private business and I hope she learns to lock the bathroom door from this point forward!. If you try to address her to embarrass her you will be doing more harm than good!. The only way to deal with this situation is to have her mother explain the facts of life to her truthfully without putting your moral judgements on to her!. Sorry but you need to stay out of it, as a father you should be 100% embarrassed about your behavior, not hers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
