I broke my tooth and it's very painful - will an emergency room pull it for !

Question: I broke my tooth and it's very painful - will an emergency room pull it for me !?
I broke 90% of my tooth: there's a small piece still there though: the gums near it are puffy and painful - will an emergency room pull it!?

Aside from going to the dentist (I don't have dental insurance and can't get to one for at least another three weeks - I won't have the money until then and don't have a credit card) - what can I do to ease the pain!? Why is it swollen!? Is it because I lost part of the tooth but not all of it (there's this small piece still there, it feels like when you get the skin from popcorn stuck on your gums - that's how small it is)!?

Thanks for any suggestions (except going to the dentist - I know I have to do this, I just need a remedy until I can)!.

I don't know if it matters, but it's the tooth that's on the top all the way in the back, Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ouch!. I'm an ER physician!. No we don't pull teeth in the ER!. Dentists do that!. What we will do is give you pain killers and antibiotics (which it sounds like you need)!. You can also goto a local drug store and pick up a dental-bond (ask the pharmacist) that will patch up the sensative part of the tooth so it doesn't hurt when you eat or drink something!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I would say try the Emergency room!. If it hurts, like really bad, I would go to the doctor, or if there is no other choice the Emergency room!. How did you break your tooth anyway!?Www@Answer-Health@Com
