My 12 year old daughter, who is 5"10 and weights 129 pounds, went for a check up, and the doctor said she has a heart murmur!. Now she has to see a cardio doctor in 2 weeks!. Has anyone one else ever heard of this in a young child before!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, my youngest daughter has a heart murmur, and it is worth taking seriously!. However, I should reassure you that some heartmurmurs during youth are due to different growth rates of the heart, lung and circulatory system!. Sometimes one organ grows faster than the other and the tearing that results will cause a heart murmur!. It is vital that an UltraSound in order to make sure that the murmur isn't a leaking break, or a flow-mixing break!. Most childhood heart murmurs resolve themselves when normal growth rates resume, but they can be hazardous if the tear is too big for normal bloodflow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
