My doctor told me to go see one because i always have stomach pains!.

Your doctor has referred you to a Gastroenterologist (aka GI doctor) to further investigate your stomach pain!. The GI doctor will ask you much more detailed questions, will probably give you some medication to help control stomach acid production, and may recommend some tests such as a barium swallow (it's an x-ray test that helps look at the inner lining of your digestive system)!.

I have a gastroenterologist because I have acid reflux!. They are doctors who specialize in disease of the digestive system!. They can prescribe medication, diagnose certain conditions and some can even scope you (stick a camera down your throat and check of abnormalities in your digestive tract)!. I'm a singer and acid reflux can seriously mess up your vocal chords!. Also, they are much more reliable when it comes to these kind of problems than general practitioners are (because this is the field that they specialize in) so they can give more accurate diagnoses and are better suited to treat them!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
