Is Gastric bypass or Lap band surgery right for me?!

Question: Is Gastric bypass or Lap band surgery right for me!?
If you are a person who struggles to lose weight but isn't an "over-eater" (meaning that I eat maby twice a day) is gastric bypass/lap band surgery right for me!?

From what I understand the way both surgeries work is by limiting food consumption the person should lose weight but if im not the type of person to eat alot is the surgery right for me!? Do you have to be an "over-eater" for the surgery to be worth it!? Which surgery if either is right for me!?

I've checked my BMI which is currently a 38 so technically its right below 40 which is one qualifications necessary for both the surgeries!. So I am eligible for either one!. I'm just not sure if the either one is right for someone like me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you are not eating and you are overweight, the first thing you might try doing is working with a nutritionist!. I did that, thought I was eating the right things at less than 1000 calories/day and eating salads and such!. But I found out that my body was actually holding on to calories and some of the very foods I was avoiding it needed for proper nutrition!. If you work with a good nutritionist, they may be able to figure out what is going on with your weight!. Another issue is if you are not eating a lot of food, why are you not losing weight!? It may be a thyroid disorder and for that you need medication!. It's not a bad thing, and with proper diet and exercise along with the medication, it'll help bring your weight down!. To qualify for surgery (so that the insurance will cover it) you need to 1!. Show that you have tried other diets to lose weight, 2!. Be at least 100 lbs overweight, AND 3!. Have a medical condition affecting your health, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, difficulty breathing, etc!.(btw: if you have diabetes, this surgery will cure it!, they don't know exactly why, but it does)!. Once you qualify, you have to have workups by a several health care professionals including an endocrinologist, psychologist, and you have to have some other tests done like a colonoscopy!. Once all the tests and workups are done and the professionals sign off that they feel you will do well with the surgery, you and your surgeon can discuss what type of surgery will help!. It can take almost 6 months to a year before they will schedule your surgery!. My sister got all this done and had gastric bypass surgery and lost over 100 lbs! She was never a big eater either, but somehow the surgery did help her lose weight!. She's almost 2 years post-op and doing great! It is surgery though and you need to think about it carefully!. It doesn't come without risks!. The fact is that not everyone makes it through the surgery, most do, but every once in a while, some don't!. It's something to think about!. Don't forget to talk to people who have had it done, or know someone who went through the surgery!. Take it all into account and you'll make the best decision for you!. Good Luck in whatever you do!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

sounds like you have done the homework and your'e right, if you don't actually eat more than most people then you are probably better off to study what you eat and your activitiesWww@Answer-Health@Com

Do your research carefully!. Gastric bypass is major surgery with many risks, up to and including death!. I've seen more than one person have trouble keeping any kind of food down after having that surgery!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
